Term 1: TICK!

And just like that, Term 1 has been and gone! And what a marvelous start to the year it has been. In our 26th year, the REDed team is bigger and better than ever, with passionate instructors spread across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne who have had the best time working hard with students to  light up classrooms, dance studios and stages. From before and after school training rehearsals, to preparation for state-wide competitions, our REDed dancers and school communities have hit the ground running with many highlight moments along the way.

REDed Widespread

In Term 1, we are thrilled to have run 92 training and competition classes, and 15 weekly curricular classes – that’s a whole of dancing!

Our REDed Instructors have been heading out every day to work with teams of dedicated dancers. It’s been so fun running their weekly sessions, and seeing such incredible improvement in a short amount of time.

Welcoming some new friends

At the beginning of 2025, we had so much fun launching programs at our newest schools! It has been fantastic to have these schools join our REDed Family, with fun dance clubs, troupes, and curricular programs all in full swing!

  • At Sacred Heart Matraville, we’ve worked with students in both show troupes and in PDHPE classes, and it has been wonderful meeting so many enthusiastic dancers
  • We worked with 60 students from Moriah College, on their composition skills and creating a bespoke routine for in-house performances!
  • We also began extra-curricular program show troupe and training classes at Villa Maria!

Curricular programs in action

With the launch of our new, curriculum aligned programs in 2025, we have been delighted to run so many successful dance education programs in schools. You can read more about our updates to our Curricular Programs for 2025 here.

  • At Wahroonga Preparatory School, we spent a wonderful four weeks working with Kindy and Year One students through their PDHPE Program who all worked so hard together!
  • We had a fabulous time with the Primary school students at Kincoppal Rose-Bay working on all things dance (including technique and stretching) as part of their sport program. This program is a super way to get moving and energised, and having such enthusiastic participants in the program has made the term so joyous
  • Students from St Michael’s Daceyville worked so hard with us in their PDHPE Program through Term 1, and we are so excited to work with a new stream of students at the school in Term 2 to work on important movement and coordination skills through dance.

E-Co are ready to go!

Competition season is fast approaching, and our Extra-Curricular (or E-Co) Troupe Dancers have been buzzing with excitement in preparation for their moment on stage! All of our Competition Troupes had their first Dance Intensives in Term 1 and are now feeling well prepared for their first performances of the season in early Term 2! In 2025, we are running a total of 51 individual troupes that will compete across 8 Eisteddfods this year, as well as in several other performance opportunities – we are incredibly proud to be supporting so many young dancers through these programs.

Troupe costumes are also slowly beginning to arrive at REDed HQ, which will be the cherry on top of their spectacular performances. We cannot wait to share them with the students in Term 2, and continue to build anticipation for their performances!

Traversing across the NSW border and up to Queensland, we’ve had a lovely time working with the Prep-Year 2 students at Parklands Christian College for their Extra-Curricular dance program, as well as at with students at Stuartholme School in their year 5-6 Jazz class, and Lyrical Jazz class for students in Year 7 and above. In Victoria, we also spent a fabulous day at Mossgiel Park Primary School working with all year groups in vibrant, high energy, hour long dance sessions. The first-time REDed dancers absolutely loved having us visit their school!

“The students were completely engaged, and it was clear how much they enjoyed every moment of it….It’s not easy to keep everyone energised and focused, but she did it effortlessly! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!”
– Caroline McInerney, Mossgiel Park Primary School
